Walk the Lord Baltimore Hotel from your phone

A free virtual walkthrough of the Lord Baltimore Hotel: the lobby, the Versailles Room, the Maryland Room, the Calvert Ballroom, Poe's Magic Theatre and the 19th floor, with history, floor plans and a card trick on our stage.

The Lord Baltimore Hotel has been receiving guests since December 30, 1928. Now you can walk through it from your phone, for free, without anyone asking for your room number.

Our new virtual walkthrough takes you from the sidewalk on West Baltimore Street to the top of the hotel, room by room, with real photographs, narration and the stories behind the stone and brass.

What you'll find inside

The lobby ceiling, the Versailles Room and the speakeasy hidden behind its mirrors. The Maryland Room, which becomes the Bubble Room while the Sky Bar takes its winter nap. The Calvert Ballroom and its 1944 murals. Poe's Magic Theatre on the mezzanine, posters and all. The nineteenth floor, the Caswell balcony and a penthouse suite.

Tap the gold dots for the history, follow the arrows to walk from room to room, and open the floor plan to see where you are. The elevator even takes its time between floors, the way a 1928 elevator should. And the clock above the revolving doors keeps Baltimore time, wherever you happen to be reading this.

Try a card trick on our stage

When you reach Poe's Magic Theatre, look for the card on the stage table. Tap it and you're at our red velvet close-up table with six cards in front of you. Think of one. Don't tap it, don't say it. Then watch what happens to it.

Planning an event?

Event planners, couples and groups can walk the ballroom, the Maryland Room and the 19th-floor rooms before they ever visit. The floor plan shows each room's size and how many guests it holds.

More rooms on the way

The walkthrough keeps growing. New rooms and photographs are being added as we go, so check back and see what's opened up.

Prefer the stories nobody puts on the floor plan?

The walkthrough drops a few hints. Vince Wilson's virtual ghost tour tells the rest, with Molly, the nineteenth floor and the elevators that arrive when nobody called them.
