Theatrical magic, mind-reading, and Victorian spirit theatre from a performer and researcher.Careena Fenton is a magician, theatre maker, and researcher whose work combines interactive magic with the darker corners of history and folklore. A member of The Magic Circle, she brings warmth, wit, and theatrical imagination to close-up performances and intimate stage shows.
Her show Phantasmagorical explores Victorian spiritualism and the experiences of women who practiced magic and mediumship. The Last Séance grew from her doctoral research at the University of Birmingham, connecting performance with the histories of trance mediumship and witchcraft.
Careena’s work has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, horror festivals, museums, and historic venues. Her awards include the Eugene Burger Legacy Award from McBride’s Magic & Mystery School.
